38 white vs.stainless steel appliances
6 years ago. i'm told white appliances are making a comeback but most of the kitchen photos I've viewed have stainless steel. I suspect the majority of people think steel is more desirable and upmarket but I would like to know if the Houzz community agrees. Do white appliances cheapen the look of a kitchen? I know this is an older blog, but we now have all white appliances and LOVE them! We actually used to have stainless appliances, which we purchased when we bought our house back in 2008, and I hate, hate, HATED them. EVERYTHING showed up on them. Every single tiny little smudge, fingerprint, dog and cat nose prints, etc.
And stainless is the "hot" thing right now and it probably would add value should you need to sell your property before you have to change your appliances again. If I were redoing all my appliances at once, I'd definitely do stainless for that reason. In regards to white, in my very first apartment, I had all white appliances.
